| Description | I suggest such locations for settings files as exists in ST3 editor. And in other apps too. 1- Make folder settings_default (inside DC folder) with default value of "doublecmd.xml" and other option files. Files here not modified by user. Only default files are here from DC 2- Make folder "settings" (inside DC folder? if portable, then yes). By default empty! No files here. So user can unzip DC pack into his folder. User dont loose his files if he unzips DC package. DC must save all files to "settings". Not to "settings_default". After work user has XML files in settings. And others (INI, JSON) | ||||

Yes, related but here, idea is complete, while in 0001164 it is not... |

Also related Issue 0001344. Basic problem is overwriting setting files during extraction. |

Now that ID 0001344 is resolved (no XML in portable installation), seems like this one may be marked as a duplicate of ID 0001164. |
