| Summary | 0002135: Program hangs for long time when selecting tab of unreachable network share | ||||
| Description | When selecting a mapped network drive which is not reachable the program is unresponsive for a long time. Measurements show the length of this period varying between 13 to 54 seconds (out of 10 measurements) The issue is present when selecting an unreachable share and also when closing DC when the share is reachable and opening it when the share is not reachable anymore. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1: Map a network drive, select it from the drive drop down list, and close DC. Disconnect the network IF, and open DC. DC will take the above mentioned time to start. 2: Map a network drive, select it from the drive drop down list. Then open new tab, and navigate to a local drive. Close DC. Disconnect Network IF, and open DC. In this case there are two versions: 2a: DC takes above mentioned time to start and then tab shows some local drive instead of the mapped drive on the inactive tab (tab here means the tabs on one side of the UI, of which you can have multiple on top/bottom of the file list). 2b: DC starts fast, but upon selecting the tab with the unreachable network drive it hangs for the above mentioned time. 3: Start DC, and select an unreachable network drive. Program hangs for above mentioned time. | ||||
| Additional Information | Behavior is the same when using UNC path instead of mapped drive letters. TC has the option to press ESC in this case, then it interrupts connection attempt, and offers the user to select another drive. | ||||
