| Summary | 0002410: DC hangs on following all sym links | ||||
| Description | DC hangs and takes down the system after a while if i do not kill it, while copying/moving a folder with multiple sym liks and selecting to follow them all from the operation options | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | A way to reproduce it on a linux system is to download the following .tar.gz from https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/4.20-GE-1 extract it anywhere on an FS that supports sym links, copy the extracted folder on an FS that supports sym links and when asked to follow the links press all in DC (dir includes more than 50+ links). | ||||
| Additional Information | Happens at least since DC 0.91 on both qt5+gtk2 versions, cannot produce an error file | ||||

Really no bug here, DC doing that you requested. You should fully understand what are you doing when choose following all symlinks. In this case a file/folder (symlink target) copied instead symlink. This archive contains symlink to root folder "/", so you choose to copy a whole root directory and got a endless loop. |
i thought that following sym links, meant to respect the sym links target in the new copied directory |
so if i just want to copy sym links i copy them as regular files? |
Also what does the operation option Correct Links stand for? |
If you want to copy symlinks as is then you should answer 'no' in the 'follow' symlink request. If symlink is relative then option "Correct Links" try to make symlink relative to the new location. I disabled symlink following with root directory target. |

Allright thanks for the clarification, and for the addition "disabled symlink following with root directory target", although not necessary it is much appreciated. |
